Money, Money, Money!
Earlier this week, I talked a little about our Third Grade economy system. The students earn credits and may have debits throughout the year and at the end of each quarter, the students practice their entrepreneur skills by creating and selling a product (or service). We are blown away each quarter! The students are so creative! Take a glimpse into yesterday's sale. Click on the first photo check out a short flipagram that showcases the event!

Third Grade Sale
I love, love our Third Grade Economy. It's so interesting to see how students embrace our economy system. There are students who work hard to earn every.single.dollar.possible. They spend very little and count their "money" often.
One of our favorite activities is our Third Grade Craft Sale. Students make and sell items or a service at our quarterly sales. We've had students sell bracelets, lip gloss, ornaments, just to name a few.
Students sell and buy items during these sales.
Our next sale is Friday. We can't wait to see what the kids make to sell!

Language Arts Block
We are continuing to track the daily temperature of our area and Koyokuk, AK. Last week we had record cold temps. Now look at the current temp in Koyukuk! Wow! Can you imagine?
Looking forward to a great week!

The Year of Miss Agnes
We are studying the text The Year of Miss Agnes in Language Arts. This fictional story takes place around Koyukuk, AK. We will be recording daily temps for our area and Koyukuk. My plan was for the students to understand how our two climates are so different and to better understand the hardships faced by the characters. However, today's comparison may confuse them! Are we in Alaska?!
